ABOUT US:

Kickball Society was formed in 2009 to give adults in the Tampa Bay community a new way to socialize and meet people in the context of friendly athletic competition. This idea was inspired by a conversation between Kickball Society founders Wayne and Rosemary Curtiss, in which Rosemary fondly recalled playground kickball at her Catholic elementary school in Uniontown, PA. Wayne felt certain that if Rosemary, thirty five years later, was still so animated about kickball, then surely other adults might share her enthusiasm for the game. So they researched Tampa's adult kickball scene, scouted the competition, then set out to offer a better player experience. One month later Kickball Society launched its first league. 

Our inaugural league in April 2009 played in Northdale with Tampa Ale House as our league bar. Since then Kickball Society has operated leagues in Temple Terrace, Lutz, Brandon, Land O Lakes, Oldsmar, Gulfport, and downtown Tampa. To ensure there's plenty of social in social coed kickball, after our games we head to our league bar to continue the fun with social events like Theme Night, Kickball Idol contests, beer pong, flip cup, cornhole toss and other team challenges.  Much to the founders' delight, many long-term friendships have formed among people brought together on our teams, and even some marriages have resulted from friendships formed through Kickball Society. We are very proud to celebrate our 10th year in business, and to have achieved our goal of bringing people together to have fun and forget about their troubles for an evening each week. 

Life is hard. Kickball is not. We're fighting the demons of adulthood one game at a time.
